Growing Up!

Ellie is growing up fast. She has become her own little person with her own little personality. She loves to put headbands on (as pictured above -- no help at all from us). We brought the little toilet out last week just to see if she would be interested. She sees it and says "potty". This might sound mean, but after her bath last night I stuck her on it (still somewhat wet) and put the blow dryer on her to #1 dry her off and #2 to make her cold so that she would go. :) IT WORKED!!! She went pee pee in the potty! We all made a big deal of it and she was excited. :) I wish I had more time to dedicate to REALLY getting her potty trained...life is too crazy though.

She now says at stop lights "go, go, go". I think she is learning some bad habits from her mom. Let's just say that I'm not the most patient driver and my kids definitely know that. :)

My favorite thing is when it's bed time and she's not wanting to go to bed. I take her in her room and say "Do you want me to sing a song to you?". She immediately puts her head on my shoulder and sings/hums the song with me. It's usually I am a Child of God or Twinkle Twinkle. She has quite the ear!

She's already becoming a girl who doesn't want other people listening when she's not talking to them. The other day she was talking to Ken with her hands. She likes to tell stories often - we wish we knew what she was saying. I turned my head to listen and watch her and she pushed me back around because she didn't want me to listen. I hope this isn't telling of what the future will be like. :)

So Cute! I haven't ever heard of the blow dryer trick. I'll have to try that when I start training Izzy.
