So we went from "Not much new around here" to "Slow down!!!" :) It's amazing how that can happen. One minute you have a boring quiet life and the next not knowing where to squeeze in one more activity. So here is a sneak peak of our busy week...some of this is a little late posting. :)
Tuesday night I went out with my good friends, Tami and Jen, to dinner and then to a spa for my birthday. I got a European facial and my eyebrows waxed for the first time ever! We went to Dairy Queen after and talked for another hour or so. It's nice to just get out and leave the kids -- thanks to my awesome husband who lets me do it anytime! :) I got home around 11:00 and I asked my usual questions of -- "How were the girls?" and "Did anybody call?". Since he claims every time I leave I get a billion phone calls. Ken then said "Ohhh, yes. Brother Kohler called, the Bishop wants to meet with you tomorrow night." I immediately got a pit in my stomach. I am BARELY done with PTA and here they go putting me to work. :) They definitely don't waste any time! I got sustained on Sunday with my new calling. I got released from teaching sunbeams and I am now the Home, Family, and Personal Enrichment Leader. I am over all the activities with Relief Society, with of course a committee. I am a bit nervous, but mostly excited for this new challenge. AND THEN --- later that night after I got home somebody called from the stake. A member of the Stake presidency wanted to meet with Ken and I on Thursday night! Gees, when it rains it pours.
I knew it couldn't be me since I just got a calling, but you never know what could happen. You know how they sit there and beat around the bush -- asking questions about your family and having small talk. You're about to explode inside wondering what it is they want. :) So he proceeds to ask Ken if he would accept the call of Ward Clerk. I was surprised, but excited for his opportunity to learn and grow. He of course does not enjoy attending meetings. He as Sunday School president had to go to one a month and that was torture! I know he will do great and hopefully I can survive with him gone all day Sundays. He was also sustained on Sunday.
After the meeting, Ken dropped me off at BUNKO (a little late) and I won the top prize with five bunkos. I rarely get even one bunko, so it was my lucky night. :)
Friday was my Birthday. My husband did some VERY nice things for me that day...I'm sorry I didn't give him enough credit from the beginning. He handed me a sweet card right when I woke up. He said in the card that I needed to be at a certain address at 9:45. I was confused and wondering what he had up his sleeve. I knew it couldn't be breakfast -- who wants to eat alone somewhere? He typed in the address on the GPS and I followed the map and arrived at Beyond Spa. He scheduled a foot soak and a full body massage. It was extremely relaxing and a great treat! The rest of the day was unplanned. Caitlin had her Kindergarten graduation program and we waited around for Ashlan to finish of her last day of school. They both had wonderful teachers this year and we'll miss them!
Brande and my Mom stopped by for an hour or so. Brande was dropping of her kids with her in-laws while her and Nate went on a trip to CA. We had a quick lunch and then they had to go. Even though it was a short visit, it was good to see them and take a picture of the two of us turning 30. I'm glad I have somebody to get old and wrinkly with! :)My friend Tami had her baby early that morning. Ken and I decided to make a trip up there to see the new baby. We dropped the kids off at Ken's parents and headed to the hospital. Everything went very well and baby Alora is doing great!

Saturday we were planning to go see Kung Fu Panda. The girls were fighting horribly and that ended the plans quickly. I was looking forward to doing something fun with the girls. He told me a couple days before that he was taking me to dinner that night. He didn't want to elaborate, but it sounded like he had a plan. His parents showed up at 5:45 and we headed off to Mimi's Cafe. He wasn't talking much and I was getting a little suspicious. :) We walked inside to the back of the restaurant and they all yelled "Surprise!". I was touched that my friends and their husbands would come celebrate MY birthday. Even though I hate being the center of attention, it was great to be recognized. Ken had raided my email address book and contacted everybody a week prior and had planned this get together. Thank You everybody for your kindness and wonderful gifts -- you went above and beyond! I should have brought my camera -- so I don't have any proof. Thank You Allison, Jennie, Jana, Jen J., Jen G., Haley, and Cody your friendship means a lot!!!

I can not believe how big all your kids are getting! Time sure does fly. How was the reunion? I wish we could have gone but we had already been up to Kanab area 3 times in 1 1/2 months. Gas is crazy so we had to decline another trip. Hope all is well.
