Memorial Day

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

The past few years Orem City has asked my dad to fly to the Orem Cemetery on Memorial Day to be part of the program. We were able to go down this year to see him. I hadn't been watching the news so I just assumed it was going to be nice weather. I packed capri's and flip flops on Sunday before heading down there. Luckily I thought to bring jackets just in case! It wasn't too bad when we left my mom's house on Monday morning, but as soon as the program started it started to trickle to a down right pour. My poor girls toes were froze. I took them to the van to warm them up a bit. Unfortunately I missed my dad speaking -- which was one of the main reasons of going. Bad weather, Bad Luck!

It finally stopped raining and we were able to visit a bit before he took off. We headed to Denny's afterward to get breakfast -- I think everybody else had the same idea. It took us I swear 2 hours by the time we got out of there.

My dad getting ready to leave.

My Great-Grandma Stewart (97 years old). I haven't seen her for a couple of years -- she came with my Uncle Doug Stewart from St. George to stay while he is in the process of producing another play.

A few pictures I took as they flew the Apache around
(or showed off) for 10 minutes. :)

Yes, it was blue skies on one end and snowing on the other. Crazy day!
